AS A CITIZEN OF THE COMMONWEALTH OF ISRAEL (with Tobi Delly)

YOUTH ALIVE
AS A CITIZEN OF THE COMMONWEALTH OF ISRAEL

We are in a strange age. A knowledge based society planting knowledge based seeds and thereby reaping a knowledge based economy. This is the generation of the youths. Thousands of start-ups rise in one day by youths around the world. Nigeria has seen youngsters like 8 year old who became the youngest Microsoft Certified Professional, fastest growing technology companies like Nairaland (started by an Ife dropout), Jobberman (started by Opeyemi Awoyemi as an IT project in Ife), Konga, Jumia, etc. and Forbes rated hottest techie like Twine Pine started by an Obafemi Awolowo University graduate with office based in Kenya, Vconnect, etc. Hundreds of Nigerian youths are working at the Googleplex in California. I know lots of them who didn’t even wait to finish school. There’s an abundance of information on earth, abundance of knowledge and specialized knowledge, abundance of skills, abundance of air, abundance of water; even though some are taken for granted. There is an abundance of everything, whatsoever you desire. The question is, if you are empowered to get it.

We youths in Christ Jesus are citizens of the commonwealth of Israel. In Ephesians 2:12, 13, That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. As a citizen of the commonwealth of Israel, you mustn’t complain about your environment, about the obstacles on your path or try explaining away your failures. There are distinct features contained in this few select type of youths. A citizen of the commonwealth of Israel must have a Vision. He must be enlisted in the calling of God for his life; his passion early in life. Preferably, in his 20s. As a youth, you must enlist I the race of life early in your life. The earlier you get enlisted the earlier you shine. How old was Jesus Christ when he has been telling his parents he is about his father’s business? How old was Joseph when he caught the vision? How old was David when he cut Goliath down? How old was Albert Einstein when he proved to his Professor the existence of God? How old was Benjamin Franklin when he strucked the deal? Jesus Christ was 12, David was 17, Joseph was 17, Albert Einstein was 4, and Benjamin Franklin was a teenager too.

Numbers 31 shows that the children of Israel got enlisted by the age of 20. I.e. in their 20s, this means you must have discovered your purpose of existence in your teen age. You must catch your vision, the instilment of discipline and the character of a visionary and put in the quality of investment into your dream.

Joseph caught the dream as a teenager, he ascended the throne at age 30. Between the commitment to dream and the actualization of the dream in the life of Joseph is just 13 years. David got there at 30, Jesus got there at 30. These are the investments of their youths coming into realization. You must have vision, dream, and be able to put a quality investment into chasing the dream. Remember, God is not mocked, whatsoever you sow, you shall reap. It’s a simple reciprocal law that works like a consuming fire. Instead of going to that party, instead of walking with those friends who’ll never add to your life or multiply you but instead subtract and divide your life. Withdraw and meditate on your life, discover your talents and passion. Invest your time in good books, set goals and hot-chase them. As a secondary school student, nothing stops you from reading your textbooks from the first page to the last page twice and thrice. I did that for my textbooks in those days. If you read 5,000 words per day, in a month you’d have read an average of 10 books. In a year 120 books, in 5 years, you’d have read 600 books. It is that simple really.

Citizens of the commonwealth of Israel don’t talk anyhow, don’t just yell and involve in profane talks. You don’t have to be born again before you know what is right for your life and what is wrong. It is your choice to either chose an empowering path to a glorious destiny or a destructive life. Righteousness will only give you the self-discipline to carry on into your ordained destiny to become who you’ve always wanted to be. Life is spiritual, everyone has someone they consult. There are hundreds of Alfas praying for Dangote every morning, afternoon and night. The so called Atheist has something that instils beliefs and discipline in them. If they are succeeding, how much more, ye citizens of the commonwealth of Israel. Choose to become a player and not a fan in this one life that you have. Like David Oyedepo said “show me a lose youth in the kingdom of God, and his star may never rise.”
